Provinces of Turkey : ウィキペディア英語版
Provinces of Turkey

Turkey is divided into 81 provinces ((トルコ語:il / vilayet)). Each province is divided into a number of different districts ('). The provincial governorate is set in the central district ('). The central area usually bears the name of the province (e.g. the city of Van is the central district of Van Province). There are only 3 exceptions〔There were 4. The city of Mersin was previously under İçel province.〕 to this naming scheme:
*Antakya of Hatay province
*İzmit of Kocaeli province
*Adapazarı of Sakarya province
A province is administered by an appointed governor (') from the ministry of interior.
== List of provinces ==

* After Zonguldak (67) the ordering is not alphabetical but in the order of creation of provinces, because these provinces were recently created and named by the government, and their plate numbers were assigned thereafter.
